TAQA Gas

 

TAQA Gas is TAQA Arabia’s 100% Owned subsidiary responsible for all gas operations. TAQA Gas overseas the company’s 8 natural gas distribution concessions and cascades into several owned distribution companies. Transmission & distribution of natural gas to more than 1.7 Million residential, commercial, industrial customers in 55 cities across Egypt, as well as natural gas works in the MENA regions is the core business of TAQA Gas. Distributing around 6.4 BCM of natural gas annually with an existing capacity of distributing 11.8 BCM/year, TAQA Gas converts every year 150,000 customers as part of the government's ambitious plan to expand the natural gas uses to residential customers.

 

From surveys to engineering, procurement, construction works, marketing & distribution, O&M, billing & collections, TAQA Gas is a state of the art company that covers the whole downstream gas value chain including the management and operation of natural gas filling stations (CNG Stations) under the brand name (Master Gas) as well as Compressed natural gas (CNG Mobile Services) for clients in remote areas out of the natural gas networks reach.

 

TAQA Gas is one of the country’s largest and most diversified private-sector companies in the gas distribution & transmission sectors. TAQA Gas is also the first privately owned company to acquire Gas Distribution System Operator License and Gas Supplier License from the Egyptian Gas Regulatory Authority (GASREG).

Transmission & Distribution

As part of the whole downstream gas value chain, TAQA Gas has also vast experience in gas transmission works. Building medium & high-pressure pipelines, in both steel & polyethylene materials is part of the transmission services that TAQA Gas offers to its clients. TAQA Gas has successfully build 13,100,000 meters of high-pressure and medium pressure steel pipelines & PE 100 polyethylene pipes. From the natural gas field to the household or the industrial facility, all required pipelines and transmission network is TAQA Gas’s scope of works.

TAQA Gas holds 40% of the total private gas concessions in Egypt while Owning & operating 8 natural gas distribution concessions currently covering 8 Governorates 55 Egyptian cities in Suez, Red sea, Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, & Upper Egypt from Beni-Suef up to Asyut . Toschka and New Valley Governorates are part of the concession Agreements with EGAS mutual studies are underway to cover them both with Natural gas Networks. Part of TAQA Gas’s distribution duties consists of operating, maintaining pressure reduction stations, domestic Regulators and all installation works exceeding 25 million meters of steel pipes.

 

Engineering

TAQA Gas’s fully owned engineering company (EGUSCO), is responsible for all the relevant engineering works including designs of external and internal networks as well as connections to Pressure reduction station (PRS). Engineering & design works are provided by a high caliber of engineers with more than 25 years of experience in the field.

 

Procurement & Construction

The Procurement & Construction business is also part of what TAQA gas has to offer to its clients in its Portfolio. Client needs and requests are tailored to get the most efficient technical and financial customized solutions. Very well trained and competent engineers, procurement specialists, fitters ensure that projects are delivered within budget and time also following latest specifications and Standards.

 

 

Master Gas (filling stations)

As part of our downstream value chain, TAQA Gas owns and distributes compressed natural gas for vehicles (CNG) throughout its branded (Master gas) stations scattered in several cities across the country. Master gas currently operates 75 CNG stations & 15 conversion centers in prime locations distributed more than 747,590,206 million meter and converted around 35,800 vehicles till Dec. 2023 . Master Gas is converting more than 8000 vehicles annually.

Master Gas Virtual Pipeline (Mobile CNG )

TAQA Gas came up with the CNG mobile or (Virtual pipeline) solution that would provide industrial & touristic clients in remote areas and off the natural gas grid with their daily needs of natural gas. This process is made by having a compressed natural gas truck that delivers big bulks of compressed natural gas to feed the client’s internal network. TAQA Gas has already signed with several client in Hurghada and Makady areas and is in the process of finalizing several CNG mobile deals with other industrial and touristic clients.

In 2021 and for the first time in Africa and the middle east, TAQA gas succeeded in supplying the whole governorate of “New Valley” with natural gas.

Rosetta (LNG)

TAQA Arabia recently acquires Rosetta Energy's LNG arm to expand its business portfolio in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East. Rosetta is an international energy developer and operator focused on developing the full LNG value chain to supply industrial, commercial, and residential customers off the grid with clean and cost competitive energy.

The Rosetta team leverages decades of experience working in international energy companies to deliver world class LNG assets and strong commercial value for customers. This includes building and operating small to medium scale liquefaction facilities, developing innovative marine and road transport solutions, and deploying offshore and onshore regasification units. This commercially viable technology expands the use of natural gas for a wide range of off-grid customers looking to replace their Diesel/Fuel oil energy needs with cleaner and less emitting natural gas.Through this acquisition, Rosetta will act as TAQA's development and operating arm for LNG and Energy Transition opportunities in Egypt & Africa.
