TAQA Power aggressive expansion plan has resulted in growth in the power contracted capacity from 70 MW in 2006 to 880 MW in 2011 plus about 2000 MW projects in pipeline. In addition, TAQA Power has integrated its power track record and expertise with initiation of business in other sectors including water, wastewater, and cooling to become a utility developer and operator. The Power team has initiated the development of the renewable energy sector to complement its development strategic plans. The Power arm head quarter is located in Cairo, Egypt with operations covering the Middle East and Africa. A full chain of utilities' services offered by TAQA Power compromising the investment, design, construction, operation, maintenance and management of power generation plants, distribution networks and other utilities.

Renewable Energy

Wind Development
Establishing Joint Cooperation Agreement with International wind developers and suppliers.
Evaluate other Markets for Wind Energy as well as initial implementation of 50 – 100 MW Wind farm.

Waste to Energy
  Assessment of generating power from Agricultural waste.

Concentrated Solar Power Development
  Evaluating Solar Power Applications at large.
 USTDA fund will be utilized in conducting a bankable feasibility study for TAQA 250 MW Concentrated Solar Power plant.

 TAQA signed TransGreen Industrial Partnership with other 12 European leading companies, in order to study the realization of Mediterranean Mega Grid,   transmitting clean renewable energy to Europe from North Africa
