Eng. Abu Bakr participated in the development and evolution of Egypt’s gas industry, first through his work, over the period of 14 years, with the governmental energy sector - where he was responsible for different strategic projects. Then through the incorporation and leadership of several companies in the oil and gas sector over the 14-year period prior to joining TAQA. He is Secretary General of the Egyptian Gas Association and sits on the board of several business organizations and a number of affiliated power, gas & oil companies. Eng. Abu Bakr has also been elected the title of regional coordinator for Middle East & Africa in the International Gas Union (IGU).

Pakinam Kafafi

Ms. Kafafi has 15 years of experience in the investment field. She started her career at EFG-Hermes, rising to the position of Vice President of EFG-Hermes Investment Banking, a member of EFG-Hermes Group. In 2003, she took up the position of Strategy and Investment General Manager at Gas & Energy Group (Genco), moving to TAQA when Genco was acquired in 2006.

Khaled El-Beblawy

Mr. El-Beblawy Has more than 20 years of experience with Multinational FMCG (P&G and Pepsi Co International) within the Middle East Africa and Europe regions. Before joining TAQA in 2008, Khaled was the Planning Director of Pepsi Cola international North Africa Business Unit. Prior to this, Khaled was Pepsi Cola’s Egypt Snacks’ Finance Director. Khaled holds a master degree in economics from the American University in Cairo.

Dr. Magdy Saleh
Managing Director for TAQA Power

Dr. Saleh combines 20 years of experience in the management, design, construction, and operation & maintenance of donor-funded power and wastewater projects, with academic experience as professor at Cairo University’s Faculty of Engineering. Before joining TAQA in 2006, he was Vice President and Managing Director of Global Energy. He has served as senior advisor to the Tourism Development Authority and the Ministry of Tourism. He has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University.

Ahmed Dakroury
Managing Director for TAQA Gas

Mr. Dakroury’s career in the oil and gas sector spans 25 years, including 22 years with Shell International in Egypt, the UK and Oman in the fields of exploration, production and distribution. Before joining TAQA in 2006, he was Vice Chairman and Managing Director of a new Shell gas and power subsidiary in Egypt. He launched the new company and negotiated deals for upstream and downstream projects with Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum.

Rob Bennett

A Chartered Engineer (IGEM) with over 31 years Gas experience, 19 years at Senior Management/executive level, Previously with Shell International Gas & Power BV, based in the Netherlands, in a dual role as Governance Advisor, Nigeria LNG and Shell Nigeria Gas, as well as GPN Regional Health, Safety & Environmental / Social Performance Advisor for the wider Africa’s. Prior to joining Shell, in April 2001, was employed as Technical Director for a BG joint venture (MGL) in Mumbai, India. Has over 22 years experience within the BG Group in the gas Planning, Transmission Distribution and associated facilities.

Eng. Mohamed Nafea
Managing Director for TAQA Oil Marketing

Mr. Nafea joined TAQA in 2008, after a 21 year-long career in oil marketing with Mobil Oil Egypt, Mobil Oil Morocco, and ExxonMobil Egypt. He rose to the positions of President and Fuels Marketing Manager of Mobil Oil Morocco and Retail Marketing Manager of ExxonMobil Egypt. In the latter capacity, he led the marketing and sales of fuels, convenience products and other back court offers through a retail chain of 409 outlets.
